Microsoft's pre-launch supplies of Surface RT tablet completely sold out

Microsoft's pre-launch supplies of Surface RT tablet completely sold out According to reports, software giant Microsoft has completely sold out its inventory for the pre-release supplies of its forthcoming Surface RT tablet; the company's own-branded device which will mark its foray into the increasingly competitive tablet arena.

With the official launch of the Surface RT tablet scheduled for October 26, Microsoft has revealed recently that the post-order delivery of both the $599-priced 32GB version and the $699-priced 64GB version with Touch Cover will now take 1-2 weeks in the US.

Other than exhausting its pre-launch supplies of the Surface RT tablet in the US, Microsoft has also run out of the initial supplies of the device at its online stores in the UK, Canada, France and Germany.

According to the information being shared by Microsoft's Canadian and UK online stores, the low-end $499 version of Surface RT has been "Temporarily sold out"; while a delay of one to two weeks has been listed for the two higher-priced models of the tablet. Meanwhile, the French and German stores have confirmed that all the Surface RT versions have been back-ordered by 1-to-2 weeks.

Despite the fact that the overwhelming pre-ordering of a device is not necessarily an indication of its commercial usage in the long term, the Surface orders which Microsoft has placed for the remaining part of 2012 reportedly fall in the range of between 3 million and 5 million!
