Microsoft's gaming console Xbox 360 has become the largest selling gaming console in the US, in the month of February 2010. Xbox 360 sales shot up by 8% to 422,000 unit. This is after two years that Microsoft's Xbox 360 has become the number one in the category.

The recent report said that the increase in sales of Xbox 360 was boosted by the release of a new shooting title 'BioShock 2'. Bioshock 2 was launched by Interactive Software Inc for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Bioshock 2 was available in the market from February 10, 2010. It sold around 75, 000 units in total; out of these, 75% were for Microsoft's Xbox 360 and the rest 25% for Sony Playstation 3.

Microsoft's gaming console outshined the pioneers Nitendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3. Nintendo managed to sell 397,900 units and Sony Playstation sales stood at 360,100 units. Surprisingly Nintendo's sales were down by a major 47% as compared to the figures in February 2009.

Nintendo is attributing this major fall in its sales to a problem related to its supply chain. It says it sales fell considerably in the month of February due to supply shortage. On the contrary, Sony's Playstation sales were actually up by 30% compared to the figures in last February.
