Microsoft launches its premises-based product - Dynamics POS 2009

MicrosoftMicrosoft Inc has launched Dynamics POS 2009, a premises-based offering, in lines with its Dynamics product line, to serve mid market retailers. The product with out-of- the-box functionality is supported by SQL Server Express, which can also be customized using a software development kit (SDK).

Michael Griffiths, group product manager at Microsoft said: "Dynamics POS 2009 is flexible enough to address specific vertical markets and it is designed to reduce training, and provides a great user experience as well as enhanced customer services." He said that it can be used for third-party ERP solutions, and for developing add- ons and integrating with dynamic CRM.

Dynamics POS 2009, currently available in English version, is capable of supporting a smart search capability, a very secure payment standard for Payment Card Industry, and additional features for real time inventory management, focusing on retail store management.

Mr. Griffith further said: "If you want to extend its capabilities, you can. It is version resilient and we will keep customers up-to-date with complete product road maps for the future."

Microsoft Dynamics POS 2009 is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and would be introduced in the rest of the world very soon.
