Metro services will be cut on Republic Day and Jan 29
The services of Delhi Metro will be curtailed on the occasion of Republic Day parade on January 26 and Beating Retreat ceremony on January 29, according to a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official.
Anuj Dayal, spokesperson for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said, "Train schedules of Line 2 (Central Secretariat to Jahangirpuri), Line 3 (Noida City Centre to Dwarka Sector 9) and Line 4 (Yamuna Bank to Anand Vihar) will be affected. Parking will also be closed for some time."
During the Republic day celebrations on January 26, the metro will not service stations Central Secretariat and Patel Chowk of Line 2 and Mandi House and Pragati Maidan of Line 3 until 12:30 pm.
As a result, line 2 will operate from Rajiv Chowk to Jahangirpuri from 6 am to 12:30 pm. On line 3 the metros will run in two sections, from Dwarka Sector-9 to Barakhamba Road and back and from Noida City Centre to Indraprastha and back. The line 4 will be between Anand Vihar to Yamuna Bank and back. The line 1 will operate normally during the day.
On the 29 January, during the Beating Retreat ceremony, metro services will be curtailed from 3.30 p. m. to 6.30 p. m. at the Central Secretariat and Patel Chowk Metro stations. Thus Line-2 will be available only between Jahangirpuri and Rajiv Chowk while all other lines will operate normally.
The parking lots of all Delhi metro stations will be closed from 7 pm on January 25 to 1 pm on January 26 for security reasons, as recommended by Delhi police.
