Berlin - Adventurous shirt colours even in the office are completely acceptable, a Berlin-based men's fashion expert says.

Bernhard Roetzel said although white and light blue are the classic colours in business dress shirts, pink is OK and can look very well on older men with thick hair that has grey mixed in.

Lilac is also especially popular this season and can look well, but not on everyone.

"Lilac makes men with a fair complexion look even paler. These men should stick with tried and true light blue. To achieve a fresh, updated look, they can choose a white collar, which currently also is in style. (dpa)
