Max India registers net loss of Rs 6.76 crore in Q4Analjit Singh-owned insurance and healthcare company Max India has registered a net loss of Rs 6.76 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 20.22 crore in the March quarter of FY'08.

Further the company has reported a downfall of 18 per cent in its total income, which dropped to Rs 91.42 crore in the latest quarter from Rs 111.43 crore in the corresponding year ago period.

For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2009, Max India posted a net profit at Rs 21.84 crore, down 65% as compared to Rs 61.90 crore in the last fiscal.

However, the company registered a growth of 12 per cent in its total income, which surged to Rs 419.93 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009 from Rs 375.37 crore in the previous fiscal.

On a consolidated basis, Max India posted a loss of Rs 218.38 crore in the fiscal ended March 2009, against net loss of Rs 48.9 crore in the last year.

While, company's total income has increased to Rs 4891.44 crore for the full year ended March 2009 from Rs 3610.55 crore in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008. The scrip of Max India closed on Friday with gain of 3% at Rs 215.

The counter has made 52-week-high and low of Rs 254 and Rs 81 respectively.
