Maria’s lawyer files bail plea
The lawyer who allegedly ‘advised’ the prime witnesses in the Neeraj Grover murder case to not depose in court, filed an anticipatory bail in the sessions court, stating that other accused for the same were already released on bail.
According to the Crime Branch, advocate Raja Thakur — who was defending Maria Susairaj — had made 40 calls to Raju Wankhede, accused of threatening the prime witness in the murder case. Wankhede was arrested for threatening the witness Usha Ramulu.
Thakur, in his bail application, said that he made phone calls to Wankhede as he was filing an anticipatory bail for Wankhede’s friend who was involved in an assault case in Dindoshi.
Thakur is on transit bail granted by the Jabulpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court till October 15.
Thakur’s bail application also reads that he cannot be booked with section 195 A of the Indian Penal Code related to threatening of witness, as the section is currently being amended.
