Maoists, UML agree to bring ordinances transparently
Kathmandu, Feb 2 : The CPN (Maoist) and the CPN (UML) today agreed to introduce ordinances in a transparent manner based on consensus with other political parties.
At the meeting held in Prime Minister Prachanda ''s residence in Baluwatar this morning it was agreed that the three ordinances in the pipeline would be discussed with other parties to ensure their effective implementation.
The parties also agreed that any political appointments must be discussed with coalition partners to avoid differences. The UML and the other coalition partners have been alleging that the Maoists have been making political appointments unilaterally.
The leaders also discussed the transfers of government employees, formation of local bodies and the army integration process.
Kantipur quoted senior UML leader leader Madhav Kumar Nepal said, "We have told the Maoists that the content of the ordinances must be discussed before it is promulgated."
The UML expressed concern over the transfer of the government employees by breaching the law. (ANI)
