Maharashtra Govt. declares drought-like situation in 129 tehsils
Mumbai, Aug 8 : The Maharashtra Government has declared drought-like situation in 129 tehsils in the State.
According to an official release, there has been less than 50 per cent of the normal rainfall and scarcity of water and fodder this year.
Farmers in these tehsils would be eligible for several concessions, including rescheduling crop loans.
Earlier, the Jharkhand Government had declared the entire State as drought-hit due to inadequate rainfall that it has received in the last two months.
Similarly, twenty-seven more districts in Uttar Pradesh were declared drought-hit. The total number of draught-hit districts in Uttar Pradesh has reached 47. (ANI)
