Madoff's son sued for 5.3 million dollars
New York - The son of jailed Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff is being sued for 5.3 million dollars allegedly for failing to pay a film maker her promised salary, The New York Daily News reported Thursday.
Dana Offenbach said she was paid only 30,400 dollars of the total 250,000 dollars over a five-year period working for the Nehst Media Enterprises, whose chief investor is Andrew Madoff.
It was Andrew Madoff who turned his father in to federal authories last year after his father confessed to the massive Ponzi scheme. The senior Madoff was sentenced to
150 years in jail for defrauding investors of more than 60 billion dollars over more than 20 years in the largest fraud case in US history.
Offenbach said she was lured to work for Nehst and was told not to reveal the young Madoff's connection with Nehst by the studio's chairman Larry Meistrich.
"Whatever you do, don't tell anyone about the Madoff connection," the Daily News quoted her as saying.(dpa)
