Low cost phone with AAA battery launched

Olive-TelecomOlive Telecommunications' has launched a handset which uses AAA-sized batteries.

The Indian mobile making company came up with this revolutionary idea in which the most commonly available and used batteries will replace the existing battery system.

The name of the handset is FrvrOn, which means 'Forever On'. And that is what the company claims is the USP of the handset.

Besides this, the price of the product is as low as Rs. 1,699, one of the lowest in the industry worldwide. In dollar terms it comes down to $35.

The handset also has the option of using rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which is most common to the current system. On the other hand, it also uses AAA form, which is dry form of batteries.

Ravi Perti, marketing head of the company, said that the phone has been built keeping in mind the power situation in the country. While electricity is available everywhere, the power supply become erratic many times.

In such a situation, a customer can run his phone by using AAA batteries.

The phone can run for one hour with the dry cell.
