Love is not only blind, it makes women lose their ability to smellIt might sound pretty strange but it’s true that it has been suggested by latest findings, those women who are in love, are only able to recognize the body odor of their man and tend to lose the ability to recognize body odor of other male friends.

A group of 20 young women were convinced to take a quiz by Johan Lundstrom and Marilyn Jones-Gotman of McGill University in Montreal, Canada in order to reach this conclusion. The group of women along with their boy friends completed a Passionate Love Scale questionnaire to find out just how much in love they were.

Following this, the partners of the women and their male and female friends were told to sleep in a cotton T-shirt with pads sewn into the underarms to soak up their sweat for seven days.

While the study was being conducted, each female was asked to choose their lover's or a friend's T-shirt from three garments, two of which had been worn by strangers.

The New Scientist reported, “The women's scores on the Passionate Love Scale made no difference to their ability to recognize a lover's shirt, or that worn by a female friend. But those who were more deeply in love were less good at distinguishing a male friend's odor from those of strangers.”

These latest findings could be read in the journal Hormones and Behavior.
