As the date for the baton relay to reach Gurgaon is coming near, the Gurgaon administration has invited residents of Gurgaon, including sports persons, to participate in the Queen's Baton Relay.
In fact, the QBR is going to be held in the city on September 29 and will enter Haryana from Punjab at Dabwali in district Sirsa on September 26. According to the formal process finalised by the administration, all those interested will have to submit their bio-data along with their achievements to the district sports and youth affairs officer.
And the persons who will be finalised by the committee will get a chance to run with the relay baton. In fact, according to the information gathered by the sources, members of the resident welfare associations and other social organisations can also join the relay but will have to inform the officer beforehand.
According to the spokesperson of district administration while the relay is expected to start from Jhajjar, it will continue overnight and a handful of cultural programmes will also be organised to entertain the players and others at night.
It may be noted here that Gurgaon is the home for Hero Honda’s plant, which is the sole sponsor for the QBR.
