LG gets aggressive in the mobile phone market with its ‘LG Cookie Pep’The last few months have been no less than a treat for mobile freaks in India. One after the other, there has been a slew of new handset launches in the country and at very affordable prices.

The latest one has been from LG's stable: LG GD510 also known as 'Cookie Pep'. The mobile has a 3-inch full touchscreen. The handset is depending on its chic design to catch the attention of the youth in the country.

LG Cookie Pep is loaded with social networking features offering an easy user-friendly access to popular social networking sites like access Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc at any time; along with other applications like live cricket simulation. The phone is priced affordably at Rs. 7500.

Sudhin Mathur, Business Head, Mobile Communications, LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd said, "The all new LG Cookie Pep is in line with our strategy of introducing innovative gadgets and connecting with the youth through relatable propositions."

The company is looking at marketing the phone through a very aggressive 360 degree marketing plan. It will be the biggest campaign ever by LG's mobile phone division.

However, the competition in the handset category targeted at Youth is really tough. There has been many new phone launches in the past few months in this space and at very competitive prices, both from big players like Samsung and new local players like Micromax. Thus it will not be an easy task for LG Coolie pep to corner a significant market share.
