UP labourer beaten to death in Mumbai
The hate campaign against the North-Indians in Maharashtra has claimed another life. This time the victim was a 25-year-old labourer from Uttar Pradesh. He was severely beaten up by Marathi seeking youths in a local train at Khopali station, and later died in a hospital after 3-4 hours.
The 25-year-old labourer, who died at the Dubey Hospital in Badlapur, was identified as Dharamdev Rai, a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad district. He and three of his friends were attacked by a group of 10-12 unidentified men in a CST-bound train.
According to Dharamdev's friends, they were punched and kicked by the group who spoke Marathi. The men started beating up the migrants after learning that they were laborers from North India.
The railway police has a case of murder and rioting against the accused.
This shocking incident came a day after a youth from Bihar, Rahul Raj, was shot dead by the Mumbai Police on Monday. These incidents follow Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) activists' attack against North Indian students who were in Maharastra to appear for Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam.
