L-3 selected by U.S. Homeland Security Department Communications to deliver its screening technologiesIt has been revealed by the reports that the U. S. Homeland Security Department selected L-3 Communications to deliver its screening technologies for passenger airport checkpoint programs.

It will deliver 200 of its ProVision millimeter wave passenger screening systems to the Transportation Security Administration for use at airports in the United States, New York's L-3 has said.

The ProVision system is designed to alert Transportation Security Administration authorities of illicit metallic and non-metallic among other threats.

Thomas Ripp, L-3 Security and Detection Systems president, said in a statement, "Our ProVision system utilizes effective radio wave-based technology to provide an efficient screening capability to the aviation community."

Its Florida manufacturing plant will be responsible for the order, L-3 further adds. (With Inputs from Agencies)
