Kotak Mahindra Bank launches DigiLocker on Government of India's platform

New Delhi [India], Mar 7 : Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMB) on Tuesday announced that it has become India's first bank to launch access to DigiLocker on the Bank's Net Banking platform.

Through this platform, customers can eliminate the use of physical documents as Aadhaar-linked documents can be automatically fetched from Digilocker partner institutions. Customers can also download pre-verified documents themselves by providing some details.

Customers only need a valid Aadhaar number to avail the DigiLocker. It is a free service with storage capacity of 1GB. They can upload scanned copies of their documents like Driving license, Voter ID, School Certificates, etc. in their DigiLocker. They can share them with anyone using email, and can also electronically sign them using the eSign facility. KMB has provided single sign-on access to DigiLocker via Kotak Net Banking.

"We fully support Government's agenda of digitization and making India cashless. DigiLocker is targeted at paperless governance. It offers customers the convenience of uploading and accessing key documents on a single platform. This service is in-line with our philosophy of convenient digital banking solutions that solves real problems and simplifies banking," said Chief Digital Officer Kotak Mahindra Bank, Deepak Sharma.

KMB will subsequently extend access to DigiLocker via Mobile Banking and other digital platforms as well. (ANI)
