New Delhi, Jan 22 : Coming out in support of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on his controversial `Hindu Terror' remark, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said people should not get distracted by phrases, and added that everyone should support the fight against wholesome terror.

"Any form of violence that is propagated by the extremists, irrespective of any religion is dangerous. Terror does not have religion, and religions should not associate with colours. We should not get distracted by a phrase here or a phrase there. It is the intention, commitment and determination, which really matter," said Khurshid at a press conference here.

Responding to a question regarding Hafiz Saeed's recent remark, a day after Home Minister's statement, Khurshid said: We don't want to indulge in blame games. This is a motivated attempt to divert attention and push it in a particular pre-meditated direction by some people. That is the context that the whole statement has been made. There are elements, who want some kind of cover to continue their activities."

"It is the terror we are fighting against, and there are facts available to the Home Ministry on the basis of which have been consistently taking statements. Everyone should support our fight against terrorism," he added.

Earlier on Sunday, Shinde had said that the BJP and its parent body, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), were recruiting and training Hindu militants.

However, later changing his stance, Shinde clarified that he only quoted newspaper reports to point out growing incidents of saffron militancy in the country. (ANI)
