Kashmiris express concern over crisis in Pakistan

Srinagar, Mar 14 : The crisis in Pakistan has triggered concern among people in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to people in Srinagar, anything happening in Pakistan has a direct impact on India and subsequently on Kashmir.

Expressing the need for political stability in Pakistan, senior Separatist leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said, "India will also be affected by the crisis in Pakistan as it is our neighbouring country. The situation prevailing there will definitely have an impact on India. It is the need of the hour that there should be political stability in Pakistan."

Praying for normalcy in Pakistan Javed, a resident, said, "We pray to god that normalcy returns in Pakistan because a stable government in Pakistan is good for entire Asia. The people in Pakistan are very disillusioned with the violence and instability there."

Many fear that negative elements in Pakistan might try to take advantage of the situation and use this chance to spread terror in the region.

"The situation in Pakistan will have an impact on Asia, Kashmir. It may create psychological threat in the hearts of people. And this can also create a war like situation as the negative elements in Pakistan might use this chance to spread the terror further," said Imtiaz, another resident.

Musharraf''s successor as army chief, General Ashfaq Kayani, has vowed to keep the army out of politics. But the danger is that if the crisis becomes acute the military will feel forced to act. (ANI)
