Karun Chandhok qualifies last in Bahrain F1GP, faces car problemsKarun Chandhok, the Indian driver of the Hispania (HRT) team qualified last in last place for the Bahrain Grand Prix as he faced a number of car problems and had to miss many practice sessions.

Bahrain Grand Prix is the first race of the season and three new teams were lined up for making their debut. Apart from HRT, Lotus and Virgin Racing also entered the most anticipated racing event.

Chandhok will become the second Indian to race in Formula One on Sunday after Narain Karthikeyan made his debut in 2005.

The car came from the Italian Dallara factory after the Spanish-based team won a battle for survival. Chandhok was not able to participate in the earlier three practice sessions because the engineers were fixing hydraulic problems that left the machine unusable.

"What can I say, a bit chaotic really. At the last minute we threw everything together and we got out," he said.

He further said that he was just relieved to actually run the car and test the new circuit. The racer has received his super license on Thursday which gives him the special permission as he has not done the required distance in testing. The license came on the basis of his experience in GP2 support series.

"I didn't want to get in anyone's way and in fact I picked up a lot of dirt on the tyres just by getting out of people's way," Chandhok added.
