Karan Johar’s apology for ‘Bombay’ a ‘filmi stunt’, says Ashok Chavan
Mumbai, Oct 2 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Friday said that termed Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar’s apology to MNS chief Raj Thackeray as a ‘filmi stunt’.

Chavan further said that Maharashtra Government was capable of providing security to filmmakers, and emphasized that Johar should have approached state police if he had any problem.
Earlier in the day, Johar had a meeting with Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai, after MNS party activists stopped the screening of the film in some cinema halls here.
Johar reportedly discussed the issue with Thackeray following which the filmmaker apologised for using the word in his film and said that a disclaimer would now be carried in the beginning of the film.
“We apologise, we used the word ''Bombay'' in the film. We didn''t mean to hurt anybody’s sentiments,” said Johar.
The film is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar and directed by Ayan Mukherji. (ANI)
