Kaneria yearns for Test cricket action
On Thursday Pakistani leg spinner Danish Kaneria seemed a bit frustrated for not playing Test cricket for more than eight months, since he had a tour in India in last December and thus he requested his board to increase the Test schedule.
He queried, "Just imagine my last Test appearance was in India in December. Sometimes it is frustrating. How can a country go without a Test match for eight months?
Kaneria however, was amicable to the condition of PCB, after due to security reasons, Australia postponed their three-Tests and five ODI tour to Pakistan scheduled for April-May. The player, who recently injured his finger and had to go under small surgery, requested the Board to increase the Test schedule than thinking of more limited overs games.
Kaneria futher said "There is too much stress on one-day cricket these days. While it is good to have international cricket and I would love to be part of it but I still want to be playing more Test cricket."
The leg spinner Kaneria however clarified that he did not get a finger injury because of bowling too many over for the English county side Essex.
He also added "It has been a most frustrating injury but one of those things which one can't help. I know in the past the PCB has not been very happy with the number of over’s I bowled in a season for Essex. But this season I have been very careful with more support from other bowlers."
Kaneria’s injury got him an advice to take complete rest for 6 months before he jumps into the fields as he was also persuaded to return home one month before the English county championship ended.
