K K Swamy Nominated As MD & V-P Of Volkswagen India

German car maker Volkswagen has nominated Mr. K K Swamy, formerly Deputy K K Swamy Of Toyota Joins VolkswagenMD of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Ltd, as the Managing Director and Vice-President of its India operations with effect from July 21.

In his new role, Mr. Swamy will be working closely with the Managing Director and President of Volkswagen India Private Limited, Jorg Muller, who is also the company's group regional representative for India.  

K. K. Swamy has around thirty years of experience in the Indian industry. Following managerial functions at major engineering companies, he accepted senior management responsibilities at Kirloskar Group, India’s largest engineering group. In his role as Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Swamy played a crucial role in setting up and managing Toyota Kirloskar Motor since 1997.

Moreover, he also involved in successful establishment of the green field project for the Kirloskar Group.

In a statement, the company said that the resignation of Mr. Swamy comes at a time when Kirloskar has announced its plans to roll out a small car in India with an investment of $350 million.

An internal letter circulated among the employees of Toyota Kirloskar said Mr. Swamy’s resignation had been accepted and he was leaving the company for ‘better prospects.’ An official with the company confirmed the resignation of Mr. Swamy.
