Jupiter Research: Mobile advertising expected to grow $5.7 billion market by 2014
The economic slowdown has brought a down trend in business advertizing, but the mobile market is pushing up the trend – says a new study by the Jupiter Research. The research report – "Mobile Advertising: Delivery Channels, Business Models, & Forecasts” – released by the Jupiter Research articulates that the mobile advertising is expected to grow to $5.7 billion market by the year 2014.
The report says that the major reason for the growth of the mobile advertising market is the fact that the dramatically growing number of mobile devices and mobile device users, and the mobile device users are always connected to their mobile devices.
The report authored by Windsor Holden further states that the response rate for mobile advertising is much higher than the other methods of advertizing; that’s one of the factors that will contribute to the growth of the mobile advertising, which will result in creating a strong market. However, the strong mobile advertising market will still represent about 1.5% of the total global spending on advertising. The most popular way of delivering mobile advertisements will be mobile Internet.
According to the report, seeing the spectacular growth in mobile advertising, several startup companies are looking to cash the growing market. These companies are mainly targeting Apple’s super device iPhone as a platform, as iPhone is extensively used device for web surfing and iPhone users are often downloading and installing new apps comfortably from Apple’s App Store. One of such companies is Medialets, which has developed an advertising platform enabling app developers to provide rich media ads built into iPhone apps.
