JLTV testing started by Army and Marines
According to official reports, the U. S. Army and Marine Corps have received delivery of Joint Light Tactical Vehicle prototypes and will begin an evaluation of the new technologies.
It was reported that, developed by a BAE Systems, Navistar Defense and ArvinMeritor defense contractor team, the JLTV prototypes include two general purpose vehicles, four infantry carriers and one utility carrier variants.
Ann Hoholick, BAE Systems vice president and general manager of new vehicles and amphibious systems, said in a statement, "We have invested heavily in the development of the technology and capabilities that a platform like JLTV could provide to the modern day warfighter."
The report further noted that the JLTV vehicles, designed with next-generation armor solutions from the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program, were delivered to the military's West Point, Miss. Installation and will go through a one-year evaluation period to measure the capabilities of the vehicles against rigorous Defense Department standards. (With Inputs from Agencies)
