Jet Airways register net profit of Rs 53 crore in Q4

Jet Airways register net profit of Rs 53 crore in Q4 Jet Airways India Ltd., the private air carrier operating in India, has posted a net profit of Rs 52.99 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2009 against a net loss of Rs 221 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

It should be noted that the results include CENVAT credit of Rs 350 crore and Mark-To-Market (MTM) loss of Rs 133 crore.

However, total income of Jet Airways for the quarter declined 8.23% to Rs 256.62 crore, when compared with the prior year period.

For Financial Year ended 31st March 2009, the airline clocked a loss of Rs 402 crore, versus a loss of Rs 253 crore in the previous financial year.

The company's total income from all operations for the year rose to Rs 11476 crore compared to Rs 8811 crore in the year ended March 31, 2008.

The counter of Jet Airways settled the day at Rs 305 on BSE, marginally up compared to previous close of Rs 303.
