Jaya goes on hunger strike to support Lankan Tamil cause
Chennai, Mar. 9 : AIADMK Chief and former Tamil Nadu chief Minister Jayalalithaa has decided to go on a hunger strike for the Lankan-Tamil cause.
Her huger strike will start in Chennai on Monday from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Opposition leader said that the ruling DMK Government and the Centre have done little to bring about a ceasefire in Sri Lanka and help the Tamils there.
Her fast is going to be interesting because she got PMK chief Vaiko arrested for 18 months in 2002 for his speeches supporting the LTTE cause.
The AIADMK is holding hunger strikes across Tamil Nadu, and also planning to collect money to be sent to Lankan-Tamils as humanitarian aid. (ANI)
