Jade Goody gets last rites performed at home
London, March 16 : Cancer-stricken Jade Goody had the last rites performed by a priest in a sad ceremony at her house.
The Brit reality TV star was granted her last wish after doctors allowed her to go home so that she could spend her final days with her beloved sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.
The 27-year-old, who has been battling with cervical cancer that has spread to her entire body, was surrounded by close family and friends as the vicar held the small private service to say prayers and blessings.
"A priest, Father Francis, arrived to hold a little prayer service and blessing, as Jade had wanted. It was a pre-arranged thing," the Daily Express quoted her representative Max Clifford as saying.
"Fr Francis is known to Jade and her family - she calls him Father Ted. She wanted him to say some prayers and to bless her.
"Jade sees this as a route for her - through Jesus and religion she has a way of keeping in touch with everybody, with the boys. That's why they are doing what they are doing," he added.
Jade, who has been suffering excruciating pain, was previously said to have just few hours to live, with Max saying that she was "on the edge of a precipice".
He said: "She's a little brighter but it's very much the same. We're just taking every hour as it comes. She's getting weaker, she's fading, but she's got a big heart which is probably why she's still alive." (ANI)
