IUNC Study Claims; Amphibians And Birds Most Susceptible To Climate Chang

The climatic changes not only have adverse affect on mankind but also IUNC Study Claims; Amphibians And Birds Most Susceptible To Climate Changtakes birds and amphibians under its black shadow. This comes after a study completed by IUNC- International Union for Conservation of Nature.

In this study, 90 biological traits were identified that make species most susceptible to changes in climate. The study further informed that 71 % reef building corals, 52 % amphibians and 35 % birds are being adversely affected by climate change, which has pushed them to the extent of extinction.

“Climate change is already in process and this is the first time species that are prone to climate change have been systematically identified,” informed Wendy Foden of IUCN’s Species Program.

If we look at the list containing species of the animals at risk of extinction, 49 species of mammals have been marked from India, which includes bats, deer, tiger and gibbons.

This study took 5 years to complete, and 1700 scientists from across the world took part. It was estimated by the study that 1 out of 4 species is on the endangered list and the population of 1 in 2 is dropping. The latest issue of journal Science will contain more details about this study.
