With this plunge, the happiest man on earth would be Louie Sulcer, a 71 year old who received a $10,000 USD gift card from none other than the Apple's Steve Jobs for making the landmark purchase.

It was a contest which was being rallied by Apple Inc. with the hefty prize money to its kitty, for the lucky contestant who downloaded the 10 billionth song from the iTunes store.

Overwhelmed Sulcer's purchase was Johnny Cash's 1958 classic 'Guess Things Happen That Way' which really made things happen his way.

It made him richer by $10,000 USD overnight, which means an entry to unlimited access, to more than 12 million songs plus a vast array of multimedia content spanning movies, TV shows and software apps.

On the other hand Apple Inc. has a win-win situation. It stands to gain more popularity which means further steadfastness in its market position.
