Issues of vehicle maintenance will be the main focus of IDGA conference

Institute for Defense and Government AdvancementIts heavy military vehicles conference in Virginia will focus on issues of vehicle maintenance, the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement has said.

It has been reported that the non-partisan security and defense live conferences and events organizer IDGA on Wednesday released details on its third annual Heavy Vehicles Summit that suggests a shift in focus.

Scheduled to open July 26 at Tysons Corner in Virginia, the 3-day conference is expected to center discussion topics on heavy vehicle industry maintenance initiatives along with an emphasis on the development of vehicle upgrades.

It has also been reported that conference Director Luis Hernandez shifted the focus of the event as part of an effort to keep relevant with current industry trends toward maintenance rather than on new platform development.

Discussion topics will include "building bridges to future requirements, corrosion control and prevention, life-cycle management opportunities and enhanced technology," IDGA said in a release.

The report also noted that the annual heavy vehicles event will feature authorities from the Army Capabilities Integration Center, Marine Corps Logistics Command and Army Materiel Command among others. (With Inputs from Agencies)
