Israel says it can’t undermine India’s security

Israel says it can’t undermine India’s securityIsrael will not do anything that could undermine India's security because it will in no way compromise on its excellent, strategic relations with India, Israel's defence ministry said in a press release.

The Israel's defence ministry released the statement to the media in response to some reports that Israel has sold some military equipment to Pakistan.

On Tuesday, the Haaretz newspaper cited official reports from the UK hinting that Israel had sold defence equipment to some countries, including Morocco and Pakistan.

Turning down the reports, the ministry said, "The State of Israel categorically denies having sold military equipment of any kind to Pakistan.  Israel would not do anything that could undermine India's security."

The ministry also said that India is the strongest democracy in the world, which just like Israel, is also dealing with terrorist threats.

Meanwhile, Israel's Ambassador to India Alon Ushpiz said relations between India and Israel are not limited to defence.

In a recent interview, Ushpiz underlined that relations between India and Israel go way beyond defence as both countries share moral set of values, and believe in democracy and freedom of speech.
