Irsih dentists warned dental treatment abroad can lead to more problems

Irsih dentists warned dental treatment abroad can lead to more problems Recent study showed that traveling to overseas to avail cheaper dental treatment is not advantageous. Study was based on the data collected by 440 private Irish dentists.

Findings of the study indicate that three out of four dentists had patients who were suffering from problems due to treatment from abroad.

Around 76% of the dentists included in the study claimed that they have treated patients suffering from problems like acute pain, infection, breakage of restorations and poorly-fitted restorations.

IDA President Dr. Donal Blackwell said the problems were due to a large amount of work being done over a short time.

The Irish Dental Association has warned people from getting lured by the cheap cost of dental treatment abroad as it might lead to bigger dental problems later.

The IDA says the remedial work needed to rectify these problems can often be a bigger problem than the initial dental complaint.
