Iranian exiles demonstrate in Germany against poll outcomeHamburg  - More than 1,000 Iranian exiles demonstrated on Saturday against the re-election of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The protesters marched through the centre of the north German port of Hamburg, displaying banners reading "We want a new election" and "Down with the dictator."

Some of the demonstrators carried green ribbons, the colour of Iran's opposition, and photographs of people injured during anti-election protests in Iran.

Police said the march was peaceful.

Ahmadinejad was declared winner of Iran's June 12 election with more than 60 per cent of the vote, but opposition leader Mir-Hossein Moussavi has alleged fraud and called for a new ballot.

Tehran and other Iranian cities have witnessed almost daily protests since the election, some of which have turned violent.(dpa)
