IPL 2: Kamran reported for suspect bowling action
Here's
a big setback for Rajasthan Royals team in South Africa. Bowling
sensation Kamran Khan, who was reported for a suspect action, has been
asked to undergo a two-week rehabilitation programme by the Technical
Committee of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The decision was taken in a meeting attended by former Indian skippers
Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri along with IPL Chairman and
Commissioner Lalit Modi.
It may be recalled that on Thursday (April 30), on-field umpires Rudi
Koertzen and Gary Baxter felt Kamran had a suspect action in certain
deliveries.
Speaking on this, IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi said, "I have officially
received a copy of the umpires' report duly signed by all the three
umpires (including the TV umpire) and the video footage for the game at
the Centurion."
The IPL then decided to refer the matter to the team management of the Rajasthan Royals and the Technical Committee.
Meanwhile Royals skipper and coach Shane Warne said, "Kamran is a young
man with a great work ethic and a huge appetite to learn. With these
attributes in mind, we are confident that this issue will be resolved
very quickly."
