Newegg and Intel have said that they are investigating on the whole issue of the sale of fake chips. According to the company, it is going to check is and every aspect of the supply chain. The company has acted fast to find out links using which, the processor came in to the company and then sold to the market as an Intel processor.

In a sensational claim, Newegg was found guilty of selling fake Intel processors. One of the customers has accused the company of such duplicate product with a logo of Intel. Then he has also posted some of the photos and other information on the fake product to web.

According to a Newegg statement, the "CPUs" were purchased between Mar. 1, and Mar. 4. These CPUs have FPO/BATCH# 3938B006 printed on the packaging. The Part Number written on the heat sink was CNFN936612 and there will be no wiring on the heat sink itself. But earlier Newegg has admitted that there may be some shipping error and as a result the customer might have handed over with a demo box rather than a functional unit. Whatever may be reason, the entire issue has damaged the brand value of Intel.
