INQ enters the Indian market
Keeping in mind that the trend of social networking websites is getting very popular by the day, the launch of INQ Mobiles was expected for a long time. As the handset maker offers social phones that are compatible for using social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter et al, it has recently tied up with Aircel to offer more options to the Indian consumers and lets the user remain online 24*7.
The telecom major has entered into an exclusive contract with INQ wherein it will have the exclusive distribution and marketing rights for the handsets and would be targeted at the socially inclined youth base of the country.
It is with this view that the form factor has been kept stylised, colourful and yet affordable. INQ has also hinted that the company has plans to bring SKYPE powered phones into the country.
The company has even localised its offerings in the Indian market by adding the cricinfo application along with Orkut. Keeping in mind that Orkut is much more popular in India as compared to Facebook, the idea of bringing the localised version makes a lot of sense.
