Infosys Opens First Mexican Development Centre, Stock Up 4%
Information technology (IT) company Infosys Technologies Ltd has made announcement about the opening of its first Latin American Subsidiary in Mexico.
The subsidiary, Infosys Technologies S. De R.I.De CV, would provide complete range of services such as business process outsourcing (BPO), infrastructure management and packaged solutions implementation. Besides, it offers business consulting and IT services for all verticals including banking, financial services, distribution, retail, and more.
N R Narayana, Infosys Technologies Chief Mentor said, “Mexico has embraced Infosys and worked with us to establish this innovative development centre.”
President of the Mexican United States Felipe de Jesus Calderon Hinojosa, Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys N R Narayana Murthy and Governor of the State of Nuevo Leon, Jose Natividad Gonzalez Paras attended the inaugural ceremony of the Subsidiary.
“Our public-private partnership is already serving a half-dozen global clients in multiple industries and 87 new employees, both new college graduates as well as senior professionals have joined Infosys so far - remarkable achievements in the first six months since opening the center,” said Murthy.
The company’s Mexican facility aims to increase services to its subsisting customers in the US, Latin America and Europe.
Moreover, it fortifies the company’s worldwide delivery model potentialities and unites other Infosys development centers in the Czech Republic, Poland, Thailand, Philippines, China, Australia, Canada and India.
Infosys chose Mexico because of the broad language skills available in the region and its cultural similarities to Canada, the US and Europe. Latin America is a growing market and one where many of Infosys customers have operations already.
Shares of Infosys ended at Rs 1,630.30, up 4.0%, on Thursday (22 Feb) on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
