Indian shares gain over 3 per cent on strong dollar, low oil prices
New Delhi - Indian markets closed on a high Tuesday posting gains of over 3 per cent as the dollar strengthened and crude oil prices dipped.
The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share Sensex closed at 15049.86 marking a 3.80 per cent rise on its previous close.
The broader 50-share Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 4,504, up 3.57 per cent.
Realty and bank stocks were among the big gainers.
The Indian stock markets will remain closed on Wednesday on account of a Hindu festival. (dpa)
