Indian Currency Strengthens To A Month's High At 46.40 Vs US CurrencyThe Indian currency climbed to a month's high on Friday after surging 13 paise to 46.40 as compared to the US currency on selling of the American currency by exporters.

The rupee declined eight paise during the opening trade to 46.61 per US dollar as against its previous closure at 46.53 per USD on continued buying support from bankers.

At last, the Indian unit closed the day on a positive note at 46.40 against the Dollar.

A wide fluctuation was seen in rupee, as it hit the day's low and high at 46.39 and 46.69 per USD respectively.

The central banking institution (RBI) on Friday fixed the reference rate for the US Dollar at Rs 46.46, which was down by 17 paise as against its earlier rate of 46.63.

Similarly, the Euro too fell by one paisa to Rs 60.73 per unit, as compared to its previous close of Rs 60.74 per unit.

Six month forward dollar was recorded at 4.87% as compared to 4.61 on previous day, whereas one year also advanced at 4.23 per cent compared to 4.02 per cent, the previous day.

Worldwide currencies as against the Indian unit at the end of the session were Euro ending at 60.46/48 per unit, pound sterling at 72.41/43 per unit and Yen 53.68/70 per 100 units, brokers added. (With Inputs from Agencies)
