Lahore, Jan 12: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that the allegations levelled by India against Pakistan in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks are regrettable, as Pakistanis strongly condemn terrorism in its all forms.

Talking to Canada's High Commissioner in Pakistan Randolph B Mank, Sharif said India had launched a vilification campaign against Pakistan all over the world that had led to further deterioration in bilateral relations.

The real motives behind the Mumbai attacks could only be unearthed if both countries jointly probed the matter, the Daily Times quoted Sharif, as saying.

He urged India to give a positive response to Pakistan's offer for a joint investigation, so that the non-state actors, who wanted to sour relations between the two countries, could be brought to justice.

Sharif added that the PML-N was striving for the rule of law, supremacy of the constitution, sovereignty of parliament and independence of the judiciary.

He regretted that the dream of an independent judiciary could not be translated into reality despite verbal claims and pledges by the government

Mank said Pakistan could benefit from Canada's economy as it was among the fastest growing economies of the world. (ANI)
