India wins record 12 medals in Design at Cannes Lions 2013
Indian agencies won a record number of Lions in Design category at this year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
At the 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the Indian agencies won a total of two Gold, two Silver and eight Bronze Lions.
While Ogilvy & Mather Gurgaon grabbed a Gold for its `Day Light' campaign for electronics giant Phillips in sub-category of Design Photography; Taproot India bagged the another Gold in Design for campaign `Farmer Suicide' for The Times of India in `Print & Poster Ads' sub-category.
Apart from a Gold Lion, Ogilvy & Mather also bagged 2 Silver Lions and 2 Bronze Lions in the Design category.
The list of bronze winners includes McCann Erickson, BBDO India, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather and TBWA India. McCann Erickson won two Bronzes for Penguin, BBDO India won a Bronze for Stick it Art, Ogilvy & Mather for WWF & Qalamkari creative calligraphy and Leo Burnett for Cotex Bio Farm.
McCann Erickson South Asia President Prasoon Joshi said, "For me, Cannes is the place that is always full of surprises. there are companies you are not familiar with, and you have no idea what you are up against."
While David Gallagher, senior partner & chief executive (Europe) at Ketchum, was the Jury President for PR Lions; Dilip Cherian, consulting partner at Perfect Relations, was a jury member from India.
