According to recent report, India will become the largest DTH market in the world. The study suggests that India will overtake US in terms of subscribers by 2012. USA is currently the number one direct-to-home market in the world. Media Partners Asia (MPA) has released a report on survey based on the DTH subscribers in the country.

In this report the DTH companies have managed to add huge number of new customers in past few years.

Around 17 million of new DTH have been installed in India in the year 2009. It has been estimated that by 2014 it may reach the figure of 45 million and can touch about 58 million by 2020.

That means the sector will see a growth of around 38% by 2014 and 50% by 2020. Some of the leading players in the Indian DTH market are Tata Sky, Dish TV, Reliance Big TV, Airtel Digital TV and Sun Direct etc.
