India’s growth story at Davos

WEF-DavosAt the World Economic Forum at Davos, the Bharti Group Chairman and CEO said that people are more concerned about the problems, scams, rising commodity prices, global economic risks and increasing unemployment in the country.

Instead of talking about these problems, people should divert their attention towards the constructive issues of the country, as rest of the world considers India is a great place to do business and hence make investments in the country. It's the time to celebrate our success.

The summit was attended by more than 2500 global leaders including 125 CEOs and senior ministers from India. Ministers including Home Minister P Chidambaram, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel are attending the summit.

In addition to these ministers, many big corporate figures including Azim Premji, Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Bharti Mittal and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw were also present in the summit to showcase India's growth chart.

At the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum, Internationally renowned music composer AR Rahman was also honored with the Crystal Award.

Davos WEF is a major business event hosted in Switzerland every year by Geneva based WEF. This year, the event kicked off on January 26, 2011.

Bharti Enterprises Group Chief Executive Officer Sunil Bharti Mittal attended a session and expressed his view that Indian government will soon deliver a new National Telecom Policy (NTP). He also said the he is very hopeful that our telecom minister will bring a long-term, sustainable telecom policy very soon.
