India, Pak need to discuss all issues to avoid further escalation of tensions: U.S.
Washington [USA], Oct. 28 : The United States has reiterated that India and Pakistan need to hold bilateral talks to solve all the ongoing issues and to avoid further escalation of tensions.
During a press briefing, US State Department Spokesperson John Kirby said, "These are issues that we believe India and Pakistan need to discuss, they need to talk about and need to work out between themselves."
He was responding to a question about the latest events between New Delhi and Islamabad during which the two neighbours expelled each others' diplomat.
Kirby said these are sovereign decisions that nation-states make and these are the issues that India and Pakistan will have to work out.
He added Washington does not want that these tensions should escalate further and result in more reports of ceasefire violations.
"We don't want to see that happen," he said. (ANI)
