India, Malaysia agree on direct flights between Penang and Chennai

Kuala Lumpur, Apr 21: India and Malaysia have agreed to allow direct flights between Penang and Chennai.

A Malaysian Namban report quoted Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia Ashok P. Kanta as saying that Malaysian airline companies should make use of this opportunity.

He said the introduction of direct flights would help increase the number of tourists between both countries and improve bilateral relations.

Mr. Kanta also said that Malaysian Indians should take the opportunity to apply for the Indian government's financial aid that is given to students who are pursuing their professional studies.

He said that so far 30 students had submitted their applications. (ANI)
