‘Improved’ Marsh eyeing Oz recall after tumultuous 12 months

Shaun-MarshSydney, Jan 12 : Shaun Marsh has claimed a turbulent 12 months has helped him become a stronger person and the results are starting to show on the field following his brilliant performances for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. Marsh (79 off 60 balls) powered the Scorchers to a tournament-high score of 4-189 in the win over Adelaide on Friday, News. com. au reports.

The 29-year-old overtook Australian call-up Aaron Finch as the Big Bash League's leading run scorer in the process, prompting spin legend Shane Warne to call for Marsh to be picked at international level in all three forms of the game. Marsh said he was focused on continuing to contribute to WA cricket and building towards a potential Australian recall.

Pointing out towards his axing from the WA side and the controversy surrounding a boozy night out in South Africa, the left-handed batsman said he has had his ups and downs over the past 12 months, and it has certainly made him a stronger person within. Marsh added that he had gone through lot of tough periods where he started questioning his abilities.

Marsh added that he knew if he just kept doing the work and training hard and sticking to what he knew best, the things were going to turn around for him. Marsh said he was happy with the progress he has made, adding its just the start of his road to comeback. (ANI)
