ICL: Easy Win For Chennai Superstars
In the ongoing Indian Cricket League 20s Indian Championship, Chennai Superstars on Tuesday defeated Hyderabad Heroes by 18 runs at Sardar Patel Stadium. Chasing a victory target of 161 runs in the allotted 20 overs, Hero’s led by Chris Harris could score only 142 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
Earlier in the evening Stuart law won the toss and elected to bat first. The star-studded Chennai Superstars batting line-up posted 160 all out at the end of their allotted 20 overs, with Harvey and Vignesh adding 70 runs in 5.4 overs. Harvey scored a quick fire 49 runs off just 21 balls, with three fours and five huge sixes. Young Vignesh also scored a crucial knock of 32 runs. However, both Arnold and Sathish were dismissed cheaply.
Chasing 161 runs, Hero’s got to a bad start with opening batsman Abdul Razzaq throwing his wicket to Jesuraj in the second over. The very next over Jimmy Maher was dismissed for 12 runs by Shabbir leaving the Heroes at 16/2. Expect Boje (38) and Khaleel (unbeaten 29), no other batsman could stay at the wicket for long, resulting an easy win for Superstars.
This is the first defeat for Heroes in the tournament.
