HT Media posts net profit of Rs 32.40 crore; to spend Rs 40 crore on expansionHT Media Ltd, the publisher of English daily Hindustan Times and business newspaper Mint, reported a net profit of Rs 32.40 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009, as compared to Rs 37.72 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Total income rose to Rs 335.06 crore during the April-June quarter, from Rs 327.24 crore in the year-ago period.

In a separate announcement, the company has revealed its plan to spend Rs 40 crore in capital expenditure in the year to March 2010.

Shares of HT Media closed at Rs 113.05, up 4.82 per cent on the BSE.
