HP Introduces Technology Solutions For Retail Sector, SMBsGlobal IT major Hewlett Packard has rolled out technology solutions for the retail segment and SMEs, designed to slash costs and augment customer experience.

The retail technologies launched here include touch-enabled personal computers, point-of-sale systems, and LCD digital signages with an interactive display.

Mr. Chua Hwee Koon, vice president of the mobile business unit, in the company's Asia Pacific region, said, "In-store technology solutions have the potential to transform the retail sector in 2010."

Presently, HP is also examining a huge interactive touch screen wall that cut down the possibility for damage by understanding gesticulates without the need of direct touch.

The high-tech screen will facilitate clients in a shop try on clothes virtually by dragging various sizes and styles onto a life-size three dimensional image of themselves.

The worldwide IT giant also exhibited products and solutions aimed at SMEs in India, comprising reasonable high definition video-conferencing software, which lets live, real-time connectivity for face-to-face conferences.

The SMEs account for 30% of the total commercial IT expenditure in India.

According to market intelligence firm IDC, the largest market transformation in the segment in this year will be the small business's approach towards technology that will be increasingly regarded as integral to long-standing success. (With Input from Agencies)
